The Finish is in Sight

In November of 2024, construction officially started on our barndominium. As of right now, insulation is complete and we are waiting on dry wall! The prayer is that we will be moved in before September 1 but we know that things change. Electrical and HVAC took a month to complete. The constant rain has kept the electric company from being able to trench and the grading company unable to grade for the porch. Work continues inside, though, and the next few steps could go quickly as long as there are no more delays.

Garage doors are in! Can’t you just imagine our logo painted right above the doors?

Exposed air ducts and trusses in our soon to be dining/living room. The ducts will be painted black and the trusses will be wrapped in wood and stained.

Insulation in the kitchen. The stove will be below the middle window.

Patience is a virtue that the Lord has been cultivating in all of us as we’ve lived in the camper for 2 1/2 years. Now that we can see the finish line of our home, we are starting to imagine living in it and that thought is honestly terrifying. I haven’t kept a house, properly cooked from scratch or had my own laundry room in so long that I’m afraid it will take an enormous amount of adjusting, once we move in. The thought of moving out of the camper is daunting enough but then I have a 3200 sq ft home that needs to be furnished and decorated. It’s daunting yet also incredibly exciting. The desire to have people in our home is so close to being a possibility. I cannot wait!
